Several transit routes will be expanded as part of the fall service changes, according to a press release issued by BC Transit and the District of Squamish. Route 5 South Parks will also be discontinued from September 2.
The additional service will benefit riders traveling between Brackendale, Garibaldi, Valleycliffe, and Downtown Squamish, the release says. Weekday evening trips and extended weekend service in the early morning and late evening are being added to four key routes:
– Route 1 Brackendale
– Route 2 Highlands
– Route 3 Valleycliffe
– Route 9 University
According to BC Transit, the expansion has been made possible through increased local and provincial funding. The 2025–26 provincial budget included an operating grant to support safe and reliable service across the province.
Riders are encouraged to use apps such as Umo, Transit App, or Google Transit for real-time bus tracking and trip planning. More information, including updated schedules and customer alerts, is available at bctransit.com/squamish.
