Squamish RCMP are investigating two separate incidents involving a man whose behaviour made women feel unsafe while walking on the Stawamus River Dyke Trail.

The most recent incident occurred on November 30, 2025, at approximately 1:20 p.m., when a woman reported feeling unsafe due to a man’s behaviour in the area. Police responded but were unable to locate anyone matching the description or witnesses who had seen the individual.
A similar incident was reported more than two months earlier on September 21, 2025, when another woman had an uncomfortable interaction with a man of similar description on the same trail. Police also responded to that call, but could not locate the male suspect.
Investigators are working to determine if there is a connection between the two complaints. The man is described as Caucasian, in his mid-30s, with an average build and a longer ginger beard.
Police are asking anyone who has had similar concerns about encounters in the Stawamus Dyke Trail or the Valleycliffe neighbourhood to contact Squamish RCMP. Anyone with information that could help identify the individual is urged to come forward.
