Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for the Sea-to-Sky corridor, with total accumulations of 15 to 25 centimeres expected through early this afternoon.
The region has already received 10 to 15 cm of snow since last night as a low pressure system tracks across the Lower Mainland. An additional 5 to 10 cm is forecast this morning before conditions taper off.
The snowfall warning is in effect for the Sea-to-Sky corridor from Squamish to Whistler, including the Resort Municipality of Whistler.
Travelers should expect challenging conditions. Roads and walkways will likely be difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow, with reduced visibility at times.
Environment Canada reminds drivers that weather in the mountains can change suddenly, resulting in hazardous driving conditions.
Motorists are encouraged to visit shiftintowinter.ca to prepare for winter driving and to use winter tires and chains. Current road conditions are available at drivebc.ca.
