Squamish will host its annual Terry Fox Run on Sunday, September 20, 2026, with organizers hoping to draw at least 500 participants.
According to the news release by the organizer, the event will take place at the Municipal Campground (39275 Loggers Lane) beside Brennan Park, where the community will gather to honour Terry Fox and raise money for cancer research. Participants can complete a wheelchair- and stroller-friendly 4-kilometre out-and-back course on foot or by wheel, with the option to do it twice for an 8-kilometre distance.
The news release noted that there is no minimum fundraising amount, and everyone is welcome to take part. Advance registration is available at run.terryfox.ca/squamish, or participants can register in person at 9:30 a.m. on September 14. The opening ceremony will begin at 10 a.m., followed by a post-run barbecue with live music by Monty Biggins. Parking will be limited, and attendees are encouraged to use active or public transportation.
Squamish will join roughly 600 communities worldwide hosting the Terry Fox Run on the same day in support of the Terry Fox Foundation. Last year, nearly 400 people took part in the Squamish run and raised a community record of more than $55,000 for cancer research.
