Squamish Academy of Music is hosting a free concert on Sat, July 7, at 7 p.m. to celebrate its one-year anniversary.

The concert will feature students presenting highlight performances from throughout the year.
The concert will be a snapshot of all the exciting things happening at SAM, said SAM director Melissa Braun.
Attendees can expect to be treated to performances by string, piano, and brass players, rock and vocal ensembles, as well as a host of talented singers.
“Sometimes a performance really captures how hard a student has been working or exhibit’s a student’s spark. Those are the moments that have been the most satisfying to me this year,” she said.
The concert is also a way for SAM to thanks the community.
“We want to thank everyone who was involved with SAM in the first year. Refreshments will be served after the concert and we will also be giving away some gift certificates and free lessons.”
The concert is free and open to the public and starts at 7:00 on July 7th. This event will be held at SAM at 38121 Second Avenue.
