Women’s Day Art Show Begins on March 3

The International Women’s Day Art Show will be open to the public from March 3 to April 6 at the Foyer Gallery, Squamish Public Library.

Created in honor of International Women’s Day, the mission of the show is to honor and celebrate women’s expression in both visual and written form, said organiser Pat Robinson.

The artwork, accompanied by a written piece, is open to the individual creativity and interpretation of the theme by the artist.  This year’s theme is “Compassion”. All the profits and donations from this year’s International Women’s Day Art Show will be presented to the Howe Sound Women’s Centre in Squamish.

The opening reception Wine and Cheese is on Wednesday, March 4, from 6 to 8 p.m. Everyone is invited to join in celebrating the opening the show with music provided by Amber Gould and Colleen Reid.  A chance to meet and talk with the artists.

The organisers have also arranged for an Artist Forum, which will provide an opportunity for artists to share the inspiration behind their art, to create new friendships, nurture old ones, and share food and music of Jody Doidge.
