June 17, 2018 9:22am

Squamish RCMP is reporting a ‘concerning’ increase in impaired driving calls in town. Between Friday and early Sunday morning the Squamish RCMP saw several calls related to impaired driving.

As a result of the investigation that followed, Squamish RCMP reported 90 day Immediate Roadside Prohibitions (IRP), 3 day IRP’s, and 24 hour driving prohibitions.

Police also set up a roadblock on Saturday night in the Garibaldi Highlands neighbourhood which led to the opening of three files related to impaired driving.

On Wednesday, June 13th, the Squamish RCMP also received a report of a stolen Motorhome from the parking lot in front of Canadian Tire.  The owner of the vehicle stated his 1995 Ford Econoline Jayco White Motorhome with blue pin-stripes on the side and licence plate FP060G was stolen. Please contact the Squamish RCMP if you have any information.

On Friday, June 15, Squamish RCMP received a report of a Break and Enter into a business on Queens Way.  The owner stated that part of the fence to the property had been damaged and a dirt bike had been stolen from the parking lot.  The dirt bike is described as a Green 2011 Kawasaki 250.

Anyone with any information regarding the above files are asked to contact the Squamish RCMP at 604-892-6100 or contact Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS,  or go to www.solvecrime.ca
