Police reports ‘significant’ drug seizure from Lions Bay home

July 4, 2018 2:04pm

A year long investigation by the police resulted in a significant drug seizure from a Lions Bay home.

Sea to Sky RCMP General Investigation Section (GIS) executed a Search Warrant yesterday morning in a Lions Bay home that led to the recovery of drugs.

On July 4th at 8 am, the Sea to Sky GIS along with the Clan Lab, LMD Emergency Response Team, and the Forensic Identification Section executed a Drug Search Warrant at a home on Upper Bayview Road.

Along with drugs, paraphernalia, and lab equipment, police seized a significant quantity of evidence they believe to be connected to the “proceeds of crime” including cash and vehicles.

“Our team is focused on public safety and in this particular investigation, we had concerns about organic solvent extractions from Cannabis Marijuana plant materials, and the trafficking of these highly potent Marijuana products” stated Sergeant Jeff Shore.

“The process of producing marijuana extracts is highly dangerous, even in controlled environments. These extractions can place the producer, neighbours and first responders at extreme risk.”

Two people at the residence were taken into custody and were later released.

The Sea to Sky GIS team continue their investigation and ask anyone with any information regarding the this investigation are asked to contact the Squamish RCMP at 604-892-6100, contact Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS, or go to www.solvecrime.ca
