Car on fire leads to impaired driving charge for local man

A car that caught fire off the Spit Road has led to an impaired driving investigation and the arrest of a man from Squamish.

On Wednesday, September 5th, at approximately 4 pm, Squamish RCMP received a report of a car in the ditch off Spit Road that was on fire.

Squamish RCMP Sgt. Sascha Banks said police investigation revealed the driver was a local man who was found to be allegedly driving while over the legal limit.

He was arrested and released on a promise to appear before court.
