Squamish RCMP is investigating a deer carcass found in a bag at a local gas station.
On Thursday, September 27, at approximately 11:55 pm, Squamish RCMP received a complaint about a garbage bag full of blood and bones, and the remains of an animal.
The bag was left at a gas station on Government Road.
Cpl Sascha Banks of Squamish RCMP said they were initially unable to determine what the remains were, but they were later determined to be those of a deer.
REPORT OF SUSPICIOUS LIGHTS ON THE STAWAMUS CHIEF
On Monday, September 24th, at around 8 pm, Squamish RCMP received a report of a light on the backside of the Stawamus Chief. The complainant stated they saw nothing to indicate distress and was calling to report it.
The Squamish RCMP receives a number of these calls throughout the year about lights in this area. Climbers frequently camp overnight in this area, in which they use flashlights to see, the police said.
LAPTOP STOLEN FROM BUSINESS ON CLEVELAND AVENUE
On Saturday, September 29, at approximately 8 pm, Squamish RCMP received a report of a theft at a business in the 38000 block of Cleveland Avenue.
The employee stated at about 1 pm that day, a customer took a silver, 15″, MacBook Air, with a “live long Squamish” sticker on the front. He took the laptop from behind the counter and ran out of the store.
The suspect was described as a south-Asian male, 5’4″, thin build, a partial beard, wearing a baseball cap, and black jeans.
