District closes Brennan Park Rec Center until further notice

December 20, 2018 3:59pm

District of Squamish has closed down Brennan Park Recreation Centre until further notice due to loss of power.

All swim lessons for the remainder of the day are cancelled. Credits for today’s lesson will be put on accounts, and lesson report cards can be picked up tomorrow and onwards from the lifeguards.

Sections of the Corridor Trail are being closed for safety reasons due to the risk of falling branches and trees.

The district is recommending that residents stay clear of parks, trails and wooded areas due to the risk of falling branches and trees.

Please report any urgent calls for service to Public Works Admin until 4:30 pm at 604-815-6868, or the District of Squamish 24-hours emergency operations line: 604-815-4040.

Meanwhile, BC Hydro is reporting power outages in Squamish. Call 911 for downed power lines and stay at least 10 metres back.
