Police arrest prolific thieves in Brackendale

May 26, 2019 4:32pm

On May 26, 2019, at around 3 pm members of the Squamish RCMP along with the Sea to Sky General Investigations Unit located several vehicles which they believed to be stolen at a gas station in Brackendale.

After further investigation, police arrested two men in Brackendale.

The men, aged 25 and 36, were both from Penticton were arrested on scene.  The 36 year old man was held for court due to an outstanding warrant for a stolen vehicle and flight from police out of Penticton.  The 25 year old man was released from custody to appear in North Vancouver Court in July 2019.

Due to the valuable information from the public and hard work from the Squamish and Sea to Sky police officers the RCMP was able to recover four stolen mountain bikes.

These bikes had been stolen during two separate residential break and enters which were reported a week prior in the Ravenswood neighbourhood.

Multiple other items believed to be stolen were located by police including the following: Suzuki SUV from Penticton, Hyundai SUV from Kelowna, Licences Plates from Merritt, Bag of items from Squamish, and Identification.

“Squamish RCMP want to thank the public for all their assistance, these investigations are complex and as you can see have involved multiple jurisdictions and police agencies” stated Corporal Sascha Banks.

“We have been working to identify those involved in the recent rash of thefts and break and enters and believe these men are responsible for a large amount  in this area as well as the interior.  But we don’t believe they were working alone.  We are reaching out to anyone who may have information and asking them to call us.”

Anyone with any information regarding the above files are asked to contact the Squamish RCMP at 604-892-6100 or contact Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS, or go to www.solvecrime.ca

Kona black little rusted. Be back for it later. But good news. Stolen two years ago. I’ll track the serial number to see if there’s a match.
