The proponents of a fitness studio say their research suggested Squamish was the ideal place to open a new facility.
F-45 Training, a group training fitness studio with 1300 branches all over the world, is opening in the business park in Squamish by the end of July or early August.
The proponent, Cortney Lessard, also owns F-45 locations in Kitsilano and Chinatown and says his research suggested Squamish was an ideal place for the fitness studio.
“Our ideal member is between 25 to 45 years old. So, when we looked at the census data and did the research, a vast majority of Squamish falls into this niche with households that have a double income but no kids or just one kid. Our friends live here and we know that Squamish is a very active community that cares for health and fitness,” he said.
F-45 studios all over the world offer a 45-minute high-intensity, circuit training workout class. The workouts change every day and are never repeated. The workouts are a mix of cardio, weight training and resistance on different days of the week and are created from the database of 3,000 different exercise to ensure members never get the same workout twice.
Lessard said along with cardio and resistance, functional movement and training for daily life is also included in the workout. F-45 studio model works for people from all walks of life: Former athletes, those who want to lose weight, beginners, anybody who wants to fit and health, and especially for the busy professional.
The studio, a 3,000 square feet space, will be opens six days a week. The price of membership hasn’t been decided yet.
