Police seek tips in theft of mountain bike worth $10,000

Squamish RCMP is seeking information related to a mountain bike that was lost in Garibaldi Highlands. Police said a custom built 2019 Norco Sight mountain bike worth $10,000 was stolen from a backyard on Jay Place.

Winter Tire Check
RCMP checked 583 cars for tire compliance on Highway 99, and issued ten violation tickets for drivers who did not have their vehicles properly equipped.

Wildlife Call
A bear broke into a garage in the Westway area and was scared away by police who notified Conservation Officers.

Theft from Auto
Police are looking for information about people who broke into cars parked along Wilson Cr. Police encourage car owners to utilize all available measures to secure cars and belongings such as locking doors, using alarms, and removing items of interest to thieves.

Fraud
Using a popular internet site for buying and selling, a fraudster convinced a victim to pay cash for a non-existent apartment rental. See www.rcmp.ca or the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre www.antifraudcentre-centreantifraude.ca for different kinds of fraud prevention and awareness.
