Snow clearing on some routes could be delayed: DOS

January 15, 2020 2:08pm

Secondary routes such as business areas, civic buildings, and one access to residential areas will have to wait for snow clearance until the storm clears.

District crews are currently maintaining priority routes with a focus on hills as well as safe routes to school, including the Corridor Trail, according to a DOS update.

In preparation for tonight’s forecasted blizzard, crews will be ‘widening out’ (pushing snow back into the ditch and catch basins) to allow for snow storage.

At this time, it is anticipated that secondary routes and cul de sacs will not be attended to in order for crews to continue focusing on the red routes.

Crews will make an effort to clear secondary routes, however they may not be cleared until after the storm passes.

Please help our crews by keeping parked vehicles off of the streets when possible. Please also remember that property owners are required to clear the sidewalks adjacent to their properties.
