Nesters Market Squamish will give an extra $2 per hour to all its staff members. The increase will be retroactive to March 8.

Nesters said it is very proud of its employees and the premium is in recognition of the staff’s hard work and commitment to the customers.

“From the outset, the staff have committed themselves to helping our stores serve our customers in the safest and most helpful manner possible,” Nesters said.

“They are our front-line and they deserve recognition for all the hard work they do.”

Meanwhile, Sean Daly, the manager of Nesters Market, is urging the community to shop at the store individually, and not as a couple, family, or as a group.

He also urged people to plan and do grocery once a week, rather than spread it over several times in a week. He is also asking customers to be mindful of social distancing guidelines.

Daly also said supplies isn’t an issue at Nesters Market. “I do my grocery shopping at Nesters and I haven’t had any problems,” he said.

To ensure there is adequate time to properly clean and sanitize the store, Nesters changed its hours last week, from 8 am to 8 pm, and the pharmacy from 9 am to 7 pm.

    Good morning Sean
I was in the other day and realized how important it is to get in and get out to have your list and be organized.
I bought my own zip lock bag to dispose of my wipe and gloves the only thing I was surprised about is that some still had their own bags. I thought that we were only to use your plastic to be sure that no one brings in Covid 19 from their home or car.
Could you let me know what is the bag protocol
Thank you for doing such a good job
    Francine
