IHIT investigating woman’s suspicious death in Squamish

Staff report
April 2, 2020 5:41pm

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) is investigating a homicide in Squamish.

On April 1, at 11:40 pm, Squamish RCMP was called to a home in the 40000 block of Government Road due to a ‘check well-being’ request.

Upon arrival, police located a deceased woman inside the home.

Due to the suspicious nature of the death, the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team was contacted and has started the investigation.

Investigators do not feel there is any outstanding risk to the public at this time, and they may be at the scene and in the neighbourhood for several more days to gather evidence.

Anyone with information are asked to call the IHIT information line at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448), or by email at ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.

They can also contact Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
