Squamish RCMP have arrested a drunk driver speeding on Forest Service Road in a stolen vehicle.
On March 30, Squamish RCMP received a report of an impaired driver on a Forest Service Road. Police observed the vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed and in an erratic manner.
Police tried to pull the vehicle over, but were unsuccessful.
Police also found the driver had stolen the car recently from a tow yard, where it had been impounded. The tow yard’s gate was also damaged by the fleeing driver.
Police were finally able to stop the vehicle and arrest the driver for flight from police, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, break and enter, theft of motor vehicle and mischief under $5000.
Stereo stolen
On March 26, Squamish RCMP received a report of a theft from a local business in the 1300 block of Pemberton Avenue.
The suspect ran away with a Monster Rockin Roller Stereo without paying for it. A citizen standing nearby managed to take the suspect’s photo. The police were able to identify the individual in the photo.
The suspect was arrested for theft under $5000 and for breaching a probation order. Police still haven’t been able to locate the stereo, however.
