Vancouver Coastal Health is hiring care aide workers and health care assistants in Squamish in response to the COVID-19 outbreak.
The new hires will work at Hilltop House and Hospice in Squamish.
Meanwhile, VCH is also hiring for these positions in North Vancouver, Vancouver, and Richmond.
Care aides work under the direction of a registered nurse and in cooperation with other medical team members.
Their duties involve providing personal care to patients, which may include bathing, grooming, dressing, assisting with meals and oral hygiene and performing nursing care duties.
Responding to call bells and alarms, observing and monitoring clients’ progress, symptoms and behavioural changes, etc. are also part of the job.
Successful applicants might be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check, VCH said.
Vancouver Coastal Health is also looking for respiratory therapists to help in the fight against COVID-19. It is a more specialised job which requires graduation from a respiratory therapy program and completion of a credential exam.
The respiratory therapist job is based at Vancouver General Hospital.
