Conservation Officers are investigating the suspected poisoning of two coyotes and several dogs in Pemberton.

In the last few weeks, carcasses of two coyotes were found in the Pemberton Meadows area, and subsequent testing confirmed the animals died from poisoning.

There have also been reports of several dogs in the area getting sick. All the dogs required veterinary care, and all of them survived the poisoning.

The dogs had ingested a contaminated item that is believed to be some type of processed meat.

Intentionally poisoning wildlife is a serious offence under the Wildlife Act, with a fine ranging up to $250,000.

The Conservation Officer Service is asking anyone with information, or who spots dead wildlife in the Pemberton Meadows area, to call the #RAPP line at 1-877-952-7277.
