Listen to the birds chirping over the Squamish Chief mountain, or the trees swaying in the Squamish wind — while you are home.

Tourism Squamish is urging people to stay home and relish the sounds of Squamish from the comfort of their home,  at least for now.

The Squamish Home Sessions enable people to enjoy the sounds and sights of Squamish without leaving home.

“Now is not the time to visit Squamish, so we’re bringing the sounds of Squamish to you. Immerse yourself in the soft melody of a temperate rainforest, hear the soothing rhythm of crashing waves over Howe Sound or experience the fluttering harmony of birds chirping, all from the comfort of your home,” according to Tourism Squamish.

The home sessions are part of an ongoing series of ideas that urge locals and tourists to enjoy Squamish from a distance.

The first home session introduced by Tourism Squamish was a #SketchSquamish art competition. Locals and tourists were invited to create a piece of art inspired by an image of the suspension bridge at the Sea to Sky Gondola.

In round two of that campaign, people are being asked to sketch the Britannia Mine.

#SketchSquamish will feature local Squamish inspirations that will encourage people to explore the town’s stunning beauty — from a distance.

“We can’t wait to welcome you back to Squamish, but in the meantime stay safe at home, make sensible choices, and respect social distancing,” says Tourism Squamish.
