Woodfibre LNG is extending the application period of its Community Sponsorship Program for another six weeks.
Form applications will now be accepted until June 30, and grants will be awarded in the summer, although an exact date has yet to be determined.
The maximum amount Woodfibre LNG said it will consider for each applicant is $2,000. Applicants must be based in the Squamish-Lillooet Regional District and must deliver programs in the local communities.
Local organizations providing services in tourism, sports, health, education and environment can apply starting today, WLNG said.
Woodfibre is also encouraging organisations to share a video or photo with their application, describing their role in the Squamish community.
Video and photo applicants will be eligible for an additional $1,000 grant.
Video submissions will close on June 15th to allow time for the community to review and “like” on Woodfibre’s Facebook page.
“COVID-19 has put enormous financial pressure on households and businesses, and has created widespread job and financial uncertainty,” says David Keane, President of Woodfibre LNG.
“Our Community Sponsorship Program is a way Woodfibre can continue to support the Squamish community. It is a priority for us to support, and provide benefits and opportunities in Squamish, especially during times of great need.”
Since 2013, Woodfibre LNG says it has contributed over $1 million to groups and events in Squamish.
