A friend of a Valleycliffe family whose house was gutted by fire on Friday evening has set up a GoFundMe page for the family.

Julie Miller, who set up the page, urged the community to support the Noaro family in their hour of need.

“If you live in Squamish, you’ve been impacted by the Noaro family. Whether as a coach, at the church, as a volunteer, staff at the hospital and the list goes on. She is a community member with a huge heart as is her whole family. They would give their shirt off their back to anyone in need,” she said.

“Let’s show them Squamish love. Please donate to Laura, Chris, Ellie and Rian.”

A meal train has also been set up and Miller is asking the community to sign up to provide meals for the family.

The fire on the Noaro family’s Birch Drive home started around 8 pm on Friday, May 22.

The family is safe, although one person is said to have suffered injuries.
