RCMP impounds motorcycle cruising at 180 km/hour on Highway 99

Squamish RCMP issued ticket to the driver of a speeding motorcycle on Highway 99, and also impounded the bike.

On May 15, a Squamish RCMP officer noticed a motorcycle rider travelling at a speed of 180 kilometre per hour in an 80 kilometre per hour zone.

The driver was issued ticket for excessive speeding and had his motorcycle taken away for seven days.

Thefts from Autos

On May 15, a citizen’s work laptop was stolen from a car parked along the 2100 block of Parkway Road. In another incident, a complainant had a garage door opener stolen from his car parked in the 39000 block of Kingfisher Road.

In a third incident, a suspect took a pair of sunglasses from a car parked in the Ravenswood neighborhood.

Police continue to investigating these thefts.

Break and Enter at Chances Casino

On May 18, an unknown suspect broke a window at Chances Casino to gain entry and damaged an automated teller machine.

Police continue to investigate.
