The Sea to Sky Gondola will be opening today to the public with new COVID-19 safety protocols and reduced capacity.

The gondola opened on May 22 for pass holders only.

The gondola will open from 9 am to 5 pm, with the last ride down at 6 pm. However, hours could change and guests are being asked to check before coming to the gondola.

Guests will also need to purchase a ticket online, and will need to show proof of the ticket when entering the parking lot. Guests may also be required to wait in their car prior to loading the gondola or be asked to visit later in the day.

As part of the new COVID-19 operating procedures, Sea to Sky Gondola staff will carefully monitor capacity.

The gondola has also posted one-way, directional signs on some trails including the Sky Pilot suspension bridge.

Food and beverage services will be limited to grab and go items at the base and the summit. Outdoor seating will be there but with spacing. The Summit Lodge will also closed except for access to washrooms and some limited retail.

The Sea to Summit Trail is also currently closed as the lower part of the trail travels through Stawamus Chief Provincial Park, which remains closed for hiking.

Recommended trails for a hike include Shannon Basin Loop, Al’s Habrich Ridge, Sparky’s Spin and Al’s Habrich Ridge where the snow line is currently at marker 18.

“We have been carefully following BC’s reopening plan and after limiting our visits to passholders over the past week, we are ready to expand to online ticket sales. The past week has allowed us to gain valuable feedback from our loyal passholders and staff on new operational measures and visitor flow at the base and summit,” says general manager, Kirby Brown.

Hi there, I’m wondering if I can bring my mom who will be leaving the country on Sunday forever. She is elderly and this will be her last trip here. It would mean so much to us if we could come on the gondola. Thanks, Michaela
