Drunk driver flees from police on Highway 99

Squamish RCMP issued multiple tickets to a drunk driver who fled after Squamish RCMP tried to pull over the vehicle.

Squamish RCMP observed a vehicle speeding and swerving through traffic while going southbound on Highway 99 in Squamish.

When police tried to pull over the vehicle, the driver sped away. When police finally managed to stop the vehicle, an impaired driving investigation was conducted, Squamish RCMP said.

As a result, the driver’s licence was suspended and several violation tickets were issued, after which the vehicle was towed.

Impaired Driving crash in Northyards

On May 23, at approximately 3 am, Squamish RCMP responded to collision in the 1000 block of Aspen Road in the Northyards.

Police observed a heavily damaged vehicle, and later located the drunk driver with the help of witnesses. The vehicle was impounded, the driver’s license was suspended and various tickets were issued.
