Conservation officers in Port Edward captured and destroyed a single wolf they believe is the wolf that attacked a man on Friday.
Conservation Officer Service said a necropsy is scheduled for Wednesday morning, and the service will continue to have a presence in the area.
The man was attacked by a lone wolf in Port Edward, approximately 125 kilometres west of Terrace.
The attack happened shortly after 11 p.m. on Friday, as the man was walking home. It was an unprovoked attacked, and the man is recovering at a hospital in Vancouver.
The service had been actively hunting for the wolf and believe there was only one wolf who attacked the man.
The wolf is not tied to wolf activity in Prince Rupert, COS added.
