From thrillers and horror movies to documentaries and kid’s shows, there are thousands of titles that locals can now enjoy with their library card.

The Squamish Public Library card has introduced a new streaming service called Kanopy, which makes critically acclaimed films available to library patrons.

There are over 30,000 titles that can be accessed with Kanopy using a library card, although patrons will have to create an account with the service.

Besides movies and documentaries, Kanopy also provides access to educational videos about career development and several instructional videos on different topics.

The Squamish Public Library has also compiled a list of the “Best of Canadian Film” on the streaming service.

On May 21, the library also announced a new take-out service. Patrons will be able to pick up books and other material from curbside starting today.

Patrons can place a hold on library items through the online catalogue, and they will be contacted by library staff for contactless curbside pickup.

The Squamish Public Library building may be closed, but it still has a lot to offer digitally.
