Off-duty Squamish RCMP officer, DOS staffer rescue suicidal person

An off-duty Squamish RCMP officer and a DOS employee helped rescue a suicidal person in Squamish.

On June 8, Squamish RCMP received a report of an individual contemplating suicide by jumping off a bridge on Government Road.

An off-duty RCMP officer and a DOS employee stopped and spoke with the individual and called for assistance.

The two remained with that individual until help arrived.

Vancouver Coastal Health is now providing support to the individual.

Ring found in Brackendale

On June 3, Squamish RCMP received a report of a ring that was found in Brackendale.

If you are missing a ring, please contact the Squamish RCMP to provide a description of the ring and retrieve it.

Squamish RCMP will keep the ring for 90 days.
