A new sit down restaurant has opened in the Summit Lodge at the Sea to Sky Gondola.

The Sky Pilot Restaurant will offer a casual West Coast inspired menu with a focus on fresh, local, and seasonal fare.

“We’re passionate about sharing this love and fresh food with friends over a signature cocktail, a local craft beer, or a glass of really good wine. You will also find a range of gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options,” the gondola said.

Meanwhile, gondola has also reopened the Co-Pilot Café and added extra space to the cafe.

“The expanded cafe offers more space for you to gather with friends and enjoy the stunning mountain views,” gondola said.

Gondola pass holders will receive 20% off on food and beverage from the Base Camp Cafe, Co-Pilot Cafe and Bodhi’s Smokehouse.

The Sea to Sky Gondola opened to the public two weeks ago with new COVID-19 safety protocols and reduced capacity.

The gondola will open from 9 am to 5 pm, with the last ride down at 6 pm. However, guests will need to purchase a ticket online, and must show proof of the ticket when entering the parking lot.

Guests may also be required to wait in their car prior to loading the gondola or be asked to visit later in the day.

As part of the new COVID-19 operating procedures, Sea to Sky Gondola said its staff will carefully monitor capacity.

Meanwhile, the Sea to Summit Trail is currently closed as the lower part of the trail travels through Stawamus Chief Provincial Park, which remains closed for hiking.

The gondola is recommending Shannon Basin Loop, Al’s Habrich Ridge, Sparky’s Spin and Al’s Habrich Ridge for a hike.
