Cleveland Avenue and Highway and Loggers Lane remains the most dangerous intersection in Squamish, according to the latest data published by ICBC.
There were 272 collisions on this intersection between 2014 and 2019, out of which 107 were casualties, which is described by ICBC as crashes that result in fatality of injury.
The rest were PDO, or property damage only, collisions.
Highway 99 and Mamquam Road and the turning lane is next on the list with 101 accidents recorded on the intersection, with 42 causalities.
Next on the list is Garibaldi Way and Highway 99 and the turning lane with 91 collisions, of which 29 were casualties.
The fourth most dangerous intersection in Squamish is Finch Drive and Highway 99 and Industrial Way with 54 collisions, of which 20 were casualties.
Buckley Avenue and Cleveland Avenue and Hunter Place is fifth on the list with 49 collisions and 19 casualties.
The numbers don’t include crashes that took place in parking lots or those that involved vehicles that were parked.
Nicolas Jimenez, ICBC’s president and CEO, said ICBC would continue to expand the data available on icbc.com to better support customers and other stakeholders.
ICBC said it would add more data throughout the year on topics including contraventions and driver licensing.

I assume the accidents being referred to are in short merge lane heading south on the highway accessed from Cleveland. Easy solution would to put a right turn lane signal here and all other traffic in all direction would be stopped.
