A vehicle that burst into flames on Stawamus FSR has sent two men to hospital today.
Squamish RCMP and fire services responded at approximately 2 pm on the the Stawamus FSR, beside the Stawamus Chief.
Squamish RCMP found two men had rolled their back road vehicle down the hill from the road after which the vehicle had burst into flames.
Both men were treated for injuries and transported to hospital.
Crews will be on scene for sometime to ensure the fire is out and the road will be blocked until the area is safe
“We are expecting and preparing for a busy August long weekend and our hope is that people are safe in their adventuring and make smart decisions about where the rec and how they do it,” said Sgt. Sascha Banks.
“There in an increased volume of people in the Sea to Sky and this increases the pressures on our communities, emergency services, Search and Rescue teams, and our residents. Today we were lucky that the fire was put out quickly and those involved weren’t seriously injured.”
