Cannabis store proposed in Garibaldi Estates

Staff report
August 13, 2020 12:14pm

The District of Squamish has received a business licence application for a cannabis store in Garibaldi Estates.

The application for the cannabis store is in the Spectacle building at 11-40437 Tantalus Road.

Cannabis Retail is a permitted use on the property.

The Province of British Columbia requires that municipalities solicit feedback from the community for each Cannabis Retail Store application.

Community feedback regarding this application may be submitted to licencefeedback@squamish.ca on or before September 3.

Feedback may also be delivered to the Community Planning Department at Municipal Hall between the hours of 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday to Friday.

For those submitting feedback, please make sure to reference the property address with the submission.

The District of Squamish didn’t specify the name of the company proposing the store.

In January, a representative of the BC Liquor Distribution branch told Squamish Reporter they were looking to open a cannabis store in town, although they didn’t have a proposed site for Squamish.
