Concession stand at Alice Lake park broken into

Staff report
September 3, 2020 11:52am

Some unknown people broke into the concession stand at Alice Lake Provincial Park, Squamish RCMP says.

They stole $20, several chocolate bars, and did minor damage to the concession stand and a nearby sign.

The theft happened on the evening of August 28.

Squamish RCMP are also investigating a theft at local liquor store, which happened on August 29.

Police say unknown people broke into the liquor store in the 38000 block of Cleveland Avenue and stole a number of bottles of vodka.

Impaired driving

On the evening of August 25, RCMP received multiple complaints about a car travelling on the highway with a wheel bent out of alignment.

RCMP located the car and spoke with the driver who showed signs of impairment.

The driver was issued a 90 day immediate driving prohibition and was ticketed for having open liquor in a motor vehicle.

The car was impounded and the driver was issued a Notice and Order to remove the car from the road until it passes inspection.
