The Sea to Sky RCMP is very concerned around the number of accidents happening on the Duffey Lake Road.
Due to the nature of the road in the mountainous area, the RCMP said it is looking at new and inventive ways to ensure people are safe and are following the laws.
Staff Sgt. Paul Hayes of the Sea to Sky detachment said police have stepped up traditional enforcement in the area and are targeting those that are driving dangerously.
On August 28, Pemberton RCMP used the services of the police helicopter, AIR 1, which recorded dangerous driving behavior on the Highway.
As part of this initiative, ground units stopped and ticked 11 motorists for various offenses including speed, passing on double solid lines or driving in an unsafe manner.
Meanwhile, six people are in hospital after multi-vehicle collision on Highway 99 yesterday.
B.C. RCMP spokesperson Dawn Roberts told CBC that criminal charges are being considered against one driver involved in the collision.
