The Downtown Squamish BIA has created a new marketing initiative to support downtown business members — the ‘Spotlight On’ campaign.
Every week, three to four businesses will be featured through the ‘Spotlight On’ campaign to bring attention to the businesses through the BIA’s website blog, social media and local radio.
The initiative is to highlight the wonderful businesses we have in Downtown Squamish. This is at no cost to the business and the BIA will cover all the costs for photography, graphics, copy writing and marketing.
The thought process behind the campaign is to help the businesses promote themselves, their products and any specials that they might be having during their ‘Spotlight’ week.
It’s been a very successful campaign, with lots of businesses already signed up. Businesses can still sign up to be ‘Spotlighted’ as the BIA will be extending this initiative through the fall.
The idea is that the campaign draws the attention of local people but also those visiting Downtown Squamish. Through social media and digital marketing, the ‘Spotlight On’ initiative is also reaching other communities within BC.
And it is not too late to sign up. Any business within the BIA catchment that wants to be ‘Spotlighted’ can just go to the online form at https://www.downtownsquamish.com/spotlight-on-application-form/.
The DSBIA recognises this is a very challenging time and is continuously thinking outside and inside the box of ways it can assist its members. It is paramount that what we do now is for the very best interests of the members.
The ‘Spotlight On’ campaign is just one way the Downtown Squamish BIA is helping their businesses recover from COVID-19 restrictions.
Other things in the works are the new sidewalk decals designed by well-known artist Alex Fowkes and a fun photo competition to win gift cards to downtown businesses which will begin very soon.
A promotional video of Downtown Squamish is being produced, and events such as the Pumpkin Patch and a possible Holiday Market (both following the provincial guidelines) are all being planned.
Additionally, the BIA have invested in digital advertising and radio commercials with Mountain FM and Rogers Media to get the newly designed downtown Squamish website seen throughout British Columbia.
