Update: Squamish RCMP continues to search for dangerous dog

Update: Squamish RCMP are still looking for a dangerous dog ten days after it was taken from the Squamish pound.

“I don’t believe the dog has been located yet,” said Sgt. Sascha Banks of Squamish RCMP.

Banks said the police is looking for the previous owner of the dog but haven’t been able to locate the owner.

Squamish RCMP are requesting the community’s assistance in locating a dangerous dog. which was taken from the Squamish pound during a break and enter to the facility overnight.

In the early hours of October 9, the Squamish Pound on Government Road was broken into and a dog was taken from the facility.

The dog, named “Max”, has been declared a dangerous dog by Squamish bylaw due to aggressive behaviour towards people and there is a concern the dog may hurt someone again.

Max is described as a male German Shepard cross, black and tan in colour.

Police are looking for information as to who is responsible for breaking into the facility and the location of the animal.
