Squamish Lions organize paper shredding event

staff report
October 10, 2020 9:00am

The Squamish Lions Club is inviting local citizens to a paper shredding event that will benefit the Easter Seals Camp Squamish.

The Easter Seals Camp organizes outdoor camps for children and adults with diverse abilities.

The paper shredding event will take place on Saturday, October 17, from 10 am to 2 pm.

It will take place at Easter Seals Camp Squamish at 41015 Government Road.

COVID-19 guidelines will be in effect for the event. Locals are being asked to put shredding in their trunk and wait in the truck.

Staples, paper clips, and elastics are okay, and shredding will be done on site. The event can end early if the trunk is full.

A $10 minimum donation per banker box is suggested.

This is a good time for locals to get rid of their private documents to support a great cause, said president Mike Jenson.

“The Lions have been having work parties at the camp and funds raised will go towards improvements. I hope to see everyone there, and I encourage you to come early as event will end when truck is full.”
