Squamish RCMP and District of Squamish rerouted pedestrian traffic near the 38000 block of Highway 99 after a bear founds its way on a tree.
Conservation officers also assisted the police and district staff in this incident that took place on October 8.
Next day, on October 9, police were called to another report of a mother bear and two cubs that were up a fruit tree in a citizen’s yard in the 100 block Isleview Place in Lions Bay.
“Bears are particularly active this time of year in all areas. Please ensure fruit trees are cleaned up and garbage is secured,” said Sgt. Sascha Banks of Squamish RCMP.
Theft from auto
On October 6, a citizen’s truck parked in the 37000 block of Cleveland Avenue was broken into.
A Mastercraft ratchet set and MotoMaster twin cylinder rapid inflator and other tools worth $300 were stolen.
