Conservation Officers seek info about Elk poaching in Squamish

Staff report
November 13, 2020 1:36pm

The Conservation Officer Service is asking the public for any information related to the poaching of a Roosevelt Elk in Squamish.

The bull elk was shot and harvested along the paved portion of Squamish Valley Road.

The incident is believed to have taken place sometime between November 1 and 2.

This is a well-travelled road and Conservation Officers are hoping a resident or motorist in the area may have seen something, or has dash cam footage that could help the investigation.

There is no general open season for elk in this area, the service said.

Anyone with information is asked to please call the RAPP line at 1-877-952-7277.
