The family of a missing Langley man is now expanding the search to the Sea to Sky area, with a possible helicopter search planned tomorrow or over the weekend.
The 32-year-old man, Joel Reed Goddard, was last seen at his home in Langley’s Willoughby neighborhood on November 10.
He left his home around 4 pm that day and hasn’t been heard since.
He is described as Caucasian, 6’0 tall, 172 lbs., with blonde hair and blue eyes. When last seen, he was wearing a long sleeved white cotton shirt and grey sweatpants.
He drives a black GMC Terrain.
To be gone for this length of time is out of character for Joel and his family is worried.
“We have done a helicopter search this past Saturday in Langley and surrounding area, and our next helicopter search is in the Sea to Sky,” said Suzie Goddard, Joel’s wife.
Joel and Suzie had a baby boy just over a month ago.
Suzie is hoping the search will lead to Joel and is urging Sea to Sky residents to help the family locate Joel.
She said the Sea to Sky is a memorable place for them and that has prompted them to search the area.
“Sea to Sky Highway was our favorite drive and there were many beautiful dates my husband took me on when we were just beginning our relationship,” Suzie said.
She said last minute trips include cruising through Squamish and Whistler, where Joel proposed to her at Hy’s Steakhouse in 2018.
It is their favorite memory.
“In 2019 we went back there to celebrate and went to a B&B in Pemberton. When I was six months pregnant with Jaxson, we took a cruise of our favorite highway and drove all the beautiful back roads of Squamish where we discussed possibly living because of the outdoor nature,” she said.
She said they also loved the Horseshoe Bay views, and she hopes to search that area as well.
She is also urging Sea to Sky community to help her find her husband.
“If anyone has any information, I ask them to please call us and let us know. We are extremely worried about him,” she said.
If you have information that might assist police to locate Joel Goddard, please call Langley RCMP at 604-532-3200.
