staff report
December 16, 2020 11:10am

Squamish RCMP are investigating three cases of theft from vehicles that were left unlocked in town.

Early December 5, a car owner had his wallet and credit card stolen from a car parked in the 40000 block of Glenalder Place.

Police say the card was later used in an online fraudulent purchase.

On December 5, police received a complaint of stolen snowboard valued at $2,200 from an unlocked car parked at the Paul Ridge trailhead.

A third, separate incident took place on December 3, between 8:30 pm and December 4 at 10:30 am.

Police say someone entered a car parked in the 4100 block of Government Road and stole credit and bank cards.

Fraud

On December 4, a complainant reported being the victim of a phishing scam, providing his personal details to service Canada before realizing he was being scammed.
