Strong winds, heavy rain in store for Howe Sound tomorrow

Media release
December 17, 2020 4:35pm

A vigorous frontal system will approach the South Coast Friday morning and spread strong winds and heavy rain to the region.

Southeast winds of 70 km/h will develop Friday morning over the exposed areas of Sunshine Coast, and central and northern sections of East Vancouver Island.

The strong southeast winds will spread to the exposed areas of Metro Vancouver and southern sections of Howe Sound in the afternoon.

Winds will ease and shift to northwest 40 km/h late Friday afternoon or early evening as the front passes through.

Loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage. High winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break.
