Heavy rain in store for Howe Sound

Staff report
December 31, 2020 9:40am

Another storm system will approach the BC Coast today, and heavy rain will return to the region on New Year’s Eve.

Heavy rain is expected to develop by this evening and continue through Friday night.

In Metro Vancouver, rain forecast is in the range from 40 to 60 mm.

Over the Sunshine Coast, from Sechelt to Gibsons and the Howe Sound area, similar amounts are likely with the bulk of the rain falling during the day on Friday.

Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.

To report severe weather, send an email to BCstorm@canada.ca or tweet reports using #BCStorm.
