A Gibsons man has been charged by police with a second-degree murder charge.
Kevin Christopher Webster was charged with second-degree murder in connection with the homicide of Moirin Gladys Webster.
On December 27, at 11:20 pm, the Sunshine Coast RCMP responded to a residence in the 500-block of Sargent Road in Gibsons, B.C. and discovered the body of Moirin Webster inside the home with injuries consistent with homicide.
Kevin Webster was arrested at scene and taken into police custody.
IHIT was called in to take conduct of the investigation and has been working closely with the Sunshine Coast RCMP and the other I-Teams to gather evidence.
On December 28, Kevin Webster was charged with second-degree murder and he remains in custody.
His next court appearance is January 6.
This was a tragic isolated incident involving members of the same household, says Sergeant Frank Jang of IHIT. There are no further concerns for the safety of the community resulting from this incident.
