Staff report
January 7, 2021 1:31pm

A local woman’s credit card was stolen from her parked car on New Year’s Eve.

On December 31, a local resident had her car parked car in the driveway of their home in the 40000 block of Government Road.

Police say a thief broke into the car and stole her wallet that contained a bank card.

The thief then used the bank card to make a fraudulent transaction at a local business.

In a separate incident, more than $4,700 of sporting equipment was stolen from a truck parked at 38000 block Queens Way.

Police are reminding people to remove their valuables from their vehicles and ensure the vehicles are locked.

Hit-and-run in parking lot

On December 30, there was an incident of hit-and-run in a downtown parking lot, when a white truck hit a car and then fled from the scene.

Police say the car owner who was hit has independent evidence to support further investigation.
