Police bust house parties in Whistler, issue COVID-19 fines

Staff report
January 9, 2021 1:55pm

Whistler RCMP issued two separate $2,300 fines for hosting illegal parties to home owners.

The first incident occurred approximately 7:15 pm, when Whistler RCMP responded to a large house party in the 1500 block of Spring Creek Drive.

Police attended and observed a gathering of approximately 15 adults who were not socially distant and were not wearing masks while standing in the driveway of the home.

A “pop-up” tent was set up in the driveway with a campfire.  A $2,300 violation ticket was issued to the home owner.

The second incident occurred at approximately 11:15 pm, when Whistler RCMP responded to a complaint about a loud house party in the 3200 block of Blueberry Drive.

Whistler RCMP learned that the occupants of the unit were in town for vacation and were not part of the same household.

A $2,300 violation ticket was issued.

Whistler RCMP is reminding the public to follow the Public Health Orders.
