Local taken to hospital after fall from roof

Staff report
January 13, 2021 9:56am

A local resident was taken to hospital after a fall from a roof at the Waterfront Landing subdivision across from Highway 99.

BC Emergency Health Services received a call at 12:39 pm yesterday about a resident who had fallen from a roof in the 1000-block of Laurelwood Road.

Sarah Morris, media relations for BC Emergency Health Services, said several paramedic units were initially dispatched.

However, those units were later called off once the first paramedics on scene assessed the patient.

One patient was transported to hospital in stable condition, she said.

Yesterday, Squamish Fire Rescue also responded to a tree blocking the roads at Depot Road in Brackendale.
