Squamish RCMP arrest man for alleged car theft

Staff report
January 22, 2021 6:20am

Squamish RCMP arrested a man last week for stealing a car.

On January 13, Squamish RCMP received a report of a man who was trying to start a car with some tool along Highway 99.

Police spoke with the man and arrested him after he couldn’t provide any documents related to the car.

He was arrested for possession of stolen property and has his first court date in February.

On January 13, Squamish RCMP also received two complaints of stolen boat equipment.

In the first case, someone stole a motor that was later located attached to a boat moored at the local marina.

In the second case, suspects smashed a window to gain entry into a storage trailer, and then stole a boat engine.

Anyone with any information regarding the above files are asked to contact the Squamish RCMP at 604-892-6100, or contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS, or go to the website www.solvecrime.ca.
