Squamish RCMP have arrested an impaired driver after a hit-and-run in Garibaldi Highlands.

On February 6, an impaired driver crashed his vehicle into another car on Highlands Way.

Squamish RCMP arrested the driver after he fled away from the scene in his heavily damaged car.

Police arrested the driver for impaired driving, failing to remain at scene, and for breach of probation.

Investigators determined that the driver was over three times the legal drinking limit.

He will appear in court on a later date.

Squamish RCMP are investigating after unknown people broke into cars, stole gas from those cars, damaged some containers, and then fled away with a pick-up truck.

Police say the suspects stole a 1994 Green F250 pick-up truck.

The incident happened on February 6,around 3 am, in the 39000 block of Government Road.
